Does anyone know when Jeep switched the passenger seat from fold and tumble to a fixed back seat that tilts forward toward the windshield?

It actually moves forward on a pantograph.

Thanks, I pick up some seats last weekend that were supposed to have been from a 75. The passenger tilts forward, but does not tumble. Latch mechanism lines up perfectly.

They are much higher than what I expected, I sit pretty high in them and just wondered if that was normal. Fit perfectly in the 71's brackets as well. I'd like to figure about a way to lower them a tad.

The original seat on a '75 has a folding back. The back folds down and the seat tips forward - the 'fold and tumble' seat.

If you take a '76 or later seat (or any other seat that does not fold) and mount it on the '75 frame, it will still tilt forward, but it won't tumble. Sounds like that's what you have.

The '76 or later seat mechanism is entirely different - no more tilting. Instead the entire seat moves forward. But it's not compatible with the toolbox.
