Getting tired of the slow progress on my Jeep so I’m going to start painting. The tub isn’t ready but I can paint the hood, fenders, grill and windshield frame.

 

Donny, any chance any time soon of copying that floor brace?

 

Got some sanding done and rattle can black in the fender well.


Rustoleum hammered black.

 

It’s like a puzzle. But pieces are broken and many are missing. So we fix the broken ones and make some new pieces. Some of us are really good, Others (like me) struggle, but we find a way.

Power steering pump installed with hoses and a belt!!
I couldn’t find the proper pulley so I had to shim the pump out 1”. My buddy with the bandsaw made some really nice standoffs and it all seems perfect.

Good progress on the Jeep today. Also got the mufflers installed.

 

Where did you get the muffler? More pics, please!

 

That is the only decent photo I got. I’ll try to take a few tomorrow. Mufflers from Summit. Two 13” turbo mufflers, 2clamps, 2 hangers and 2 90* tailpipes for just over $100.

 

Where doe it exhaust, the back or side?

 

I plan to do side dump. But because the tailpipe is too long I just turned them to dump under the jeep. I’ll have to cut and weld a little to get them to the side.

My forklift was broken.

 

I was going to ask in your other thread about the tailpipe under the jeep and difference in tone but now I see the state of the project I’ll wait a bit. Jeep is looking good.

 

Yeah. It doesn’t have an inch of wire in the whole Jeep. But I’m getting close. Paint then new wire harness. Then hope it runs!

 

Finishing touches.

 

Some friends came over tonight and we tried to start the Dauntless. Hadn’t been started in maybe 12 years. Cranked fine and ran a little bit with fuel poured into carb. Fuel never got up to the filter. Replace fuel pump and try again.

 

Can you provide some part numbers, please?
