Salvaged title?

What if any issues would I encounter buying a jeep with a salvaged title?

 

in my state, the buyer would have to pay cash, as financing for the vehicle would be unobtainable
then, before you could register it, vehicle would have to have brakes, lamps, safety euipment and so on checked by a state licensed checker (costly)
then you could register it and salvage would remain on the title
finding insurance for it would probably be a major hassle here (if it could be found)
I have always thought the reason for the salvaged title should be disclosed also: flood, fire, accident, etc
IMO flooding wouldn't be a serious as an accident, depending on how/where it got hit
has the seller disclosed the reason for the salvaged title?

 

The jeep in question was already registered by the seller and has a salvaged title.
I asked the seller and he said he wasn’t sure of why it was salvaged. He did say the body and frame seen better days, but he said the frame was straight????

 

Chuck, it will be easy for you to buy
to register and insure can be done; check with your states DMV for the requirements
this will be hard to re-sell for the obvious reasons
just have to use your head here and don't get in too deep
I know the State of Calif will survey (total) their own fleet vehicles if just the riveted shock mount seperates from or puts a tear in the frame. They won't allow any frame repairs of any kind!
So here would be a case of everything fine and a-ok, except for a very minor and very repairable shock mount!
go figure
