Added eye drills/Dremels and sizzling bacon ears to the list of things I'd like to avoid.

This kind of accident is always possible, better to make banking, counting notes. (y)
I always wonder what is the best to wear when working.
Sometimes I take a welding mask with the transparent window on it, this is to work with grinding machine.
    It protects better than all.
For gardening with heavy machines like chainsaw or cutting disk, I have a helmet with a grill but particles can come from behind ! so I add a transparent googles well hermetic like ski mask, the go over my glasses. It can produce some mist unfortunately.
I use also these large safety goggles for other activities but a projection of metal particle can break a glass!
I have a small landmower which I use for narrow passages where the big one cannot go.
One day the blade broke on a hidden stone and the broken part entered a tree.
So now I wear my army boots with upper leather protection! Recently the blade hurt a rest of a tree but did not break, just folded! It was soft steel probably which is better than steel which breaks, Honda brand. Bought a new one.
Maybe better to be a banker and pay workers.... In fact no, but take care and use good quality adapted to work.

Back in the early 2000's I was porting a big block Chevy head using a die grinder. I had cheap clear lab-type saftey googles on, but a shaving hit my eye anyway. I went in and flushed it for a while and thought all was good. That was a Friday, and when I went to bed, I knew it wasn't OK. I had a miserable weekend, and by Monday when I had an appointment with the doctor, 3/4 of my eye was orangish brown. The Doc got the sliver out, and commented about all the staining as he had never seen it so severe. I told him it was iron, not steel. It had really rusted due to the salinity of the tears. The staining took almost a month to fade.

I like these - Uvex Stealth OTG Safety Goggles with Anti-Fog/Anti-Scratch Coating (S3970DF) - Uvex Safety Glasses - Amazon.com - they work well for those of us that can't see without prescription glasses.

For hazardous operations, I also have a face shield 3M Face Shield - Face Shield - Amazon.com It is scratched and the band held togetehr with duct tape, so I'll probably replace it with this Uvex Bionic Face Shield with Clear Polycarbonate Visor and Anti-Fog/Hard Coat (S8510) - Eye Protection Equipment - Amazon.com
