I did some reading into the Roxor it has a 3.73 axle ratio. If they come out with a ARB locker how is that going to work with a CJ that has 4.88 or 5.38 gears? Since the flange will be different on the differential carrier?

I thought the break on the carrier was 3.73 and numerically larger (3.73 to 5.38)? I could be mistaken.

    From https://jalopnik.com/heres-how-similar-the-mahindra-roxor-is-to-an-old-jeep-1823474555

“The guts...You can buy off the shelf 44 ring gear and differentials, and drop them in,” he said. “I built one up the other day with a set of 5.38s.” (The Roxor, it’s worth noting, comes with 3.73 gears, though Davis told me shorter gears may be an option later).

But the Roxor’s differential has a unique “offset,” so a few modifications would need to be made for those interested in using straight-up Jeep parts.

“Say you buy an off-the shelf Dana 44 locker and you put it in either the front and rear with the current 3.73 ring gear set that’s in there,” Davis told me, “you need a little over a mil spacer just to make it all fit.”

That said, he went on to say “You can drop it in with an aftermarket gear set and it fits fine.”

That’s one thing I did check at the dealer. Fenders are longer than the Early CJ fenders by about 3”.

3.92-1 down to 5.38-1 and it is differential case, not carrier. The carrier is the cast center section commonly referred to as a pumpkin.

Even most suppliers call it a carrier now. Might as well just go with it.

Yeah, "carrier break" is the standard term.

I stopped by my local Roxor dealer to see about ordering seats. The prices were the same as one-line (about$69), but they couldnt't quote shipping, and said it would take 45 days to get them in. Shipping could be $10-$15 per seat up to about $60 per seat. They have never ordered any parts yet.
I left without placing an order.

Has anyone looked at the sway bar on these? I am wondering if at least the frame mounts are usable on CJ's. The Jeep cast ones seem to be getting higher in price all the time.

I wonder if, a warn OD unit will bolt up to the Roxor D18?
You can swap in a CJ windshield, this would make top options easier.
You can swap in a CJ grill, just for the look.

Roxor engineers have done it for a proof-of-concept, yes. As of right now, the only gears avialable are 3.73, and it already has OD in the trans, so for the Roxor it isn't much use right now. Reading that got me more excited about the prospect of a PTO.

You can swap a CJ windshield and it will just bolt-on, BUT, you must remove at least the front of the roll cage, and this will actually make non-bakini top options disappear since the tub is between the 5 and 6 in length. The tub is closest to the LJ, but not close enough to use an LJ top. So while, you can get a cheap junkyard windshield and wiper setup, you give up ever using OEM tops.

The grills are different enough to not make using a CJ grill advantageous. I got a CJ look-alike grill overlay on my stock Roxor grill shell.

I think the windshield thing would also be for looks for me. I am not trying to take away from the Roxor, I just really like the CJ windshield. As for the bikini top I suppose any CJ one would work.
The OD unit would I suppose also be for the cool factor, kind of nice that's possible. If you can make an under drive unit that would nagate the need for a regear

This. I'd love to be able to bolt on an underdrive. That being said, this thing is crazy torquey, so 4LO is kinda a joke already.

Having worked for ARB for nearly 6 years, the only thing you would likely have to do if they don't offer it in both ratios, would be to get the 19 spline gear set and swap it into the right case. The spider gears easily swap around between Dana 44's. I'd be surprised if they don't offer it in both carrier breaks from the get go. I actually pushed for a 19 spline locker again for quite awhile when I was there, but it wasn't until the Roxor came around, that they really took a look at things.

Ox already does. They offer it straight from the Roxor accessory catalog already.

The Roxor parts are cheap, the Roxor branded accessories are anything but. I'll prolly go with TrueTracs anyway.

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone measured the front axle width of a Roxor, WMS to WMS?
