All the talk about whether to install a roll bar or not, and a lot of great conversation and views, Ill be installing some sort of protection. Definitely a stock version and maybe a front loop. Id like to do a little more research on the possibility of adding a YJ Wrangler family set up also.

Id like to know who has a stock roll bar, a modified stock roll bar, like adding a front loop and who has a one-off tied to the frame cage.

And what you use your rig for.

    Photos would be great.

    Thanks guys.

Mine's the stock type bar (OK, not really stock since they weren't factory equipment except for Renegade) bolted to the wheel wells.
I added mounting points for retractable shoulder belts.
My Jeep sees everything....commuting, highway, and fairly hard off road use.
I have a full cage kit sitting in my garage collecting dust...someday maybe I'll get around to installing it.

I have a 70's stock roll bar. Eventually it will get tied to the frame, nerf bars, a front hoop, and a family hoop that can work with my tops garage door rear window.

I have a family style roll bar. I mainly use my rig off road but agree it is as important or more for street driving. It is not tied to the frame but I did add 1/4" plates under the body at the mounts.

The rollbar in my CJ5 is modified stock by the PO of the PO I bought it from. Since the entire Jeep was heavily modified to become a half-cab I see many YJ parts were used, like the heater box, pedals, shoulder harness and column I think the rollbar is YJ as well.

That's why I bought the CJ, the price was right and the hard work was already done!;)
