Rewiring - Color Coded Wire Source

    I've been noticing al lot of members are involved in repairing or rewiring their projects. I've used this Company for sourcing correct color coded wiring:
    Automotive Wires
    The color coded wiring is offered in various gauges and color codes Look at the gauge size you need and then use the pull-down for color. Smaller quantities do cost more per foot than entire rolls, yet it's nice to beable to retain correct color when building, or repairing harnesses before taping up.

    I looked at the site. Wow, they are not cheap. Appears to be imported and is not AWG but metric. I buy Machine Tool Wire from McMaster-Carr. By comparison 12 AWG MTW is $.35 per foot as opposed to $1.20 per foot as referenced above.

    I like the machine tool wire as it has a heavier insulation yet is very flexible. I wired my jeep from scratch with it. McMaster-Carr also has vehicle "primary" wire if you feel the need to stick with SAE J1128 standards. $.44/ft for 12 AWG.

    Cheaper is better sometimes, but if your restoring sometimes the little extra is worth it.
    I've got a bookmark somewhere for the correct john deere cloth wrapped wire. Costs about what is listed above but since you see the wiring more i can justify it
