Respirator's (not forced air style)

Thought I'd post this up. I've been priming and painting in the driveway over the last few days and just put on the color yesterday. I'm using Dupont Nason in a dark orange. The respirator is one that supposedly filters organic volatile. I wanted to show what the outside filter looks like after a few hours...keep in mind, that I've been painting outside in the "fresh" air.

I've learned two things. 1. Wear a respirator. 2. Change them as often as you can.

Good advice. I have a similar respirator from 3M, and I've lately started wearing it when doing just about anything in the shop that creates dust (sanding, wire wheel rust removal, etc.). It's amazing how dirty the filter gets in how short a time. Sure is nice to not spend the next day coughing up black goo.

 

That right there ought to convince folks to protect themselves.
