Found this on the 2A page. Linked it to hear as it is a safety concern. I hope there are no issues with posting it here.

I have never worked on a Ross box so, I can provide no input but, this seems important so, please read..

Yes thanks I'll be having a look at my jeeps for this. I was in a blazer that lost steering on the highway due to a broken steering linkage. Going into on coming traffic at highway speeds with no steering, caused my life to flash before my eyes so to speak, surprised I didn't shit the bed

We had a similar incident about 35 year ago. We went to our local jeep dealership to obtain a new sector shaft and pitman arm. They had the parts but it was almost $300 for the pair. My father ended up ordering the parts from JC Whitney, almost $20 for the pair. We installed the new parts and went for a test drive. Went about two miles (my older brother driving with a learners permit) pulled into the local gas station and had a loud bang as we rounded the gas pump. The splines had stripped between the sector shaft and pitman arm, leaving us with no steering. We ended up putting the original parts back in and converting to manual saginaw while rebuilding the Jeep. As a kid I loved the JC Whitney catalog - but we never did business with them again.
