Does anyone know what year seats I can fit in my 1967 cj5 without to much trouble? I would like to update them if possible. Thanks

Don't know if your looking to do a correct restoration, but I got a set of high back bucket seats out of an 80's chevy chevette. Actually gave me more room than the original seats. Just bolted them to the original brackets. Couldn't beat the price...$17

You might try seats from a PT Cruiser. I measured the ones in my wife's DD and they look like they will fit nicely, and the leather ones from a GT model will have the seat warmers in them too!

Do the Chevette seats or other high backs give you access to the jockey box under the passenger seat? the ideal solution would be a high back that lets you get to the tool box and bolts up to the existing frames without issue. Do these seats exists?
I am adding 3 pt belts to my stock 67 seats and would like to go the next step in safety as well.

Not really. I had leather high backs out of a mid- 80's RX7 that I loved, but rear seat and tool box access were almost non-existant.

Somewhere I had a whole list of seats that would fit. IIRC, Mustang seats from the 80's are almost a straight bolt in......

What rear seat can bolt to the factory rear brackets? The bestop and smittybilt for the rear come with new brackets and I don't know if they have areas that can bolt to the brackets. The instructions on their website don't help.

I can access the under the seat tool box if I lower the windshield before I tilt the hi-back seat, other wise the windshield interferes with the forward swing when the seat back contacts it.

For the front of my 58 cj5 I took my seats out of a 95 Honda civic. I can get to the tool box if I lay the seat back before rotating it forward. They have a high back and great bolsters.

datsun Z car (240/260/280) seats work pretty well, with just some simple plate steel adaption, although ive added a few pounds and dont fit in them as well as i used to

I have honda civic seats as well and can also access my tool box by laying the backrest back while tilting the seat forward. I had to weld a couple tabs on my seat frames to mount them though.

Bestop low back replacement seats for '76 + cj's work. Driver's side is bolt in, have to add tabs for pass side. Seat will tilt forward or removes easily for rear seat or toolbox.
