Anyone have suggestions for a rear seat for my 70 cj5. Thinking about the folding type but really want to use the stock seat attachment points and brackets. So many options out there but cant determine if they mount to stock location.

Rear seat in a 1970 cj would have been an option. My 71 didn’t even have holes for one. I used one of the seats from a mid 70’s that was ridgid no fold and tumble. Feet in the front a piece of channel at the rear is how it was built.

Sorry if this is unrelated or verging on a hijack, but when I get to that point, I'm stealing the design from early Scouts. It puts the mounts up on the wheelwells and opens the underneath for storage. Love that design.

Hey, thats a good idea, you could then build a nice storage box under the seat!

There are a seats for sale aftermarket that are built with a storage tray under the seat, just tilt the seat to store stuff.

I am going to do the same thing. My first car was a 1971 Scout 800B and the seat was so easy to remove. I remember Con-Ferr made storage seats.

Made my own, kinda like scout seat, it sets on fenders, attaches with door hinge pins,
2 sets in jeep, one more forward than the other, and folds forward for access under.
