rear leafs

    I have what appears to be a stock 1957 CJ5. One leaf in the rear is bent near the rear eye. Does anyone know of a repacement spring for a stock height CJ5? I have been on the phone with Quadratec, first they said yes they have it the no they don't. I would rather not lift the jeep.

    Just the one leaf or the whole pack? Did you try Walcks? Also A spring place could probably get you what you need or get a used one. PM me, Depending which leaf it is I may have a used one that would work.

    Since I posted this someone local has a set of springs from a CJ2A. Would the top leaf (the leaf with the eyes) be the same? The top leaf is the only leaf that is bent.

    Walcks is limited as to what they have. I have bought a couple parts off of them in the past. Kaiserwillys has a wider selection than most and they are adding new items every month it seems.

    Now I know you should shop around but check them out for yourself.

    For this type of item Carl (Walck's), Northstar, KW, et al. will all have the same stuff, Omix-Ada.

    Find the one with the best price or lowest shipping to you is my suggestion.

    I suggest you replace all the springs, if they are the originals. Leaf springs fatigue over the years, and your best option is to replace them all. You could call Bob Supplee too (see the sticky thread with parts sources at the top of the forum) and ask about replacement springs - he sells a lot of springs and I expect he can give you some good advice.

    If you want to patch it up, advertise in the Classifieds here for the leaves you need. Take the pack apart and reassemble with the new leaves and a new spring center bolt (parts store item).

    x2. I replaced mine with Rancho 0~1" lift. Made a huge difference. Well worth doing.

    FWIW, if you run out of options, I still have the original leafs from mine. They are unbent. I could even take out the top leaf for you if you want.

    Same here. The Rancho 0~1" springs are a good brand (not Omix) and still allow you to run stock shocks. I really like them.
