When I traded for my CJ5 the radiator start leaking day one. I titled my 1971 CJ5 in California Bay Area in 1990. I lived smog city and the Jeep had no smog. The real issue is I am 6'1" and even with tilt column steering wheel there is not enough leg room. I had no internet to look up what was a god mod or bad one back then. So I installed a 2 inch body lift. Got it done bad idea. I installed headers instead of finding some cast iron exhaust manifolds. The Jeep was sound though and I always had something else to drive so it sat for 26 years at maybe 10 or 12 different garages or under new tarps each. Now after surgery and running the risk of a hernia I find myself with at least enough time to get it road worthy.

Well I see there is a thread for what you did to your jeep today. So maybe in the future I will post there. Today I dry fitted my new Champion CC2374. Appears I needed to raise mine up one inch higher than old radiator. And shim radiator about 1/4 from mounting shroud. CIMG2078.JPG CIMG2080.JPG

Edit I did not end up with a Champion CC2374. The one I got has a direct fit for 1970 Plymouth with 318. Champion was out of stock when I finally decide to buy one. I will be able to fit the one on ebay with minor adjustments. Though if I had bought the Champion radiator which is 1.75 inches lower it would of been a drill holes and bolt on deal. My steering column is closer to the frame then most other conversions, so buyer beware I guess.
