If you can find a setup that uses the short water pump that would free up quite a bit more space. At least an inch iirc.

Mine has a 2a radiator in it with a big fan infront.
On the road it works great,
But when im going slow, or especially up a really steep hill going slow,
The temp heats up pretty quick.

I had to turn my temp controller all the way down to get the fan on as soon as possible.
that keeps the temps down, but if I fart too close to it the fan will go on.

You may want to review Duffers post as to how the aluminum radiator he installed lowered his operating temp over the copper radiator. In my '45 GPW with a v6 I installed an aluminum radiator and my electric fan seldom comes on. I have to let the jeep set idling for a few minutes or moving really slow before the fan will start to run.

Thanks Nick, I just purchased one myself and now see that it actually mounts before the radiator.... My mistake..

I used a radiator out of a 280z, Its wider so you have to have a smaller battery or relocate it.
