Don't think there is a 'kit' available. Not exactly sure why you would want to though. You would have to severly limit front axle articulation if you were going to use it. Otherwise when your front end flexed, you would bend/break components of the system. Are you planning on driving off road at all? If so, then R&P is not the way to go.

Rack and pinion steering is something that is used on independent suspenstions and really does not work on solid axles because of the arc the suspension goes through as it moves( or at least that is what I have read)

The best steering conversion to do on a '47 is to swap in Saginaw steering. Most components would come from/be similar to those used in a mid-70s CJ. Do a search on Saginaw steering conversion...

I saw a picture of a flat fender that had rack and pinion steering in a magazine once. It was an example of what NOT to do. It was mounted to massive brackets directly in front of the axle. Looked like it could double as a snowplow mount.

The only way it would even be remotely viable is if it were mounted to the front axle itself and the steering shaft had a slip yoke in it. I saw a mud dragster once that had a setup like that, but the front axle was way out in front on the engine. Can't see how you could do it in a stock type Jeep without having all kinds of clearance problems and rack and pinion units are too light duty anyway, at least the ones I've seen.
