But maybe not... Anywho, I remembered hearing Mike say that the CJ-6's had optional "troop style" (inner-facing) fenderwell seating. Has anyone thought of setting something like this up on a CJ5? Just one person on each side? Seems like it MIGHT offer a bit more legroom, etc. Any thoughts?

With no rollbar maybe but I doubt it'd work with a rollbar.

I "belive" that FJ-40's had rear seat that were on the fenderwell. May be able to do a search for that and see if you can find any pics.....

I think it would be tough to do with a rollcage - you'd have to bring the seats in so far you'd be knocking knees like the "lounge" seating on Southwestern Airlines....

I was thinking of using a set of seats out of a fj-4o as a guide for fabbing up some fold down seats for my jeep. but I'm not sure that it would be the safest way to sit in case of an accident, and prolly not the most fun for being able to see what's going on...

My kids are gonna be lucky if I don't just duct tape 'em to the rollcage... ;)

I was *this* close to using ratchet straps on their car seats...;)

BTW - I went over Black Bear Pass on that 2 x 6...but that's one spot where seat belts aint gonna help anyway...

Haha...I wish I had some pictures. Last year before the second boy was born, I'd take the wife and the older boy (3 at the time) mudding out back in the swamp. There was no seat in the back of the '76, so I ratchet strapped the boys car seat in under the roll bar. It took a few straps to make it sit still, but he had a blast.
