I have read all the posts on radiators...My 3 core just doesn't cut it and I would like to see what people have installed.
    Thanks in advance.

I had a custom aluminum rad built at a place in Arizona. I am on a trip now (Okinawa) but will be home in 3 weeks, could send some pics and a copy of the "blueprint" I did for the company who built it. There are a few minor things I would do different now.

With a mild 231 (edelbrock intake, holley 390 4 bbl, little cam, fenderwell headers, msd ignition) and a puny little plastic engine driven fan, and no shroud or coolant bottle, it can be worked pretty hard with no cooling issues.

Why isn't the 3 core working? Lots of HP, radiator old and crusty??

The relatively new rad in my 83 Cj recently gave me some cooling problems on some hard hii climbs, noticed the fins are dry rotted. They crumble at the touch of a finger. The rad is only about 5 years old but spent almost three of that in the Hawaii salt air. This is the same thing that happened to the origianl rad in the -5, the fins dry rotted in the salt air and would no longer keep the engine cool.

I bought a cross flow aluminum radiator, from the local hot rod store for 170$. It's a universal fit chevy outlet radiator. But I had over heating problems until I realized my engine compartment was way to sealed up. I'm now going to put louvers in the hood to let the hot air out. I'll try to get you some pics and dimensions.
