Ok. I have been through 2 sets of Pertronix Ignitor Ingitions. Neither one
fits in the distributor. The numbers I have had sent are from Quadratec:
    Part # 2541 and Part # 1144A.
Neither one fits. The last choice I see in Pertronix Catalog is Part #1548.
Is this the one I need??? This has been such a pain and I would like to
get it finished. Here are a couple of shots on the distributor. Can anyone
ID the distributor??? And is the part I need #1548?? Thanks for the help.:stout:

I just went through this and in fact mine is in the mail. I bought mine from http://www.geneseeproducts.com. Hopefully it all works out.

However, I can say that they seem very knowledgeable and helped me ID my dist. According to him (we'll see how well they know there stuff) he stated that if my hold down clips (for the distrib. cap) were fastened by screws then I had an IAY distributor. If they were by rivets then it was an IAD dist. Who knows. But this thread helped me out overall....

BTW yours looks like mine and IAY. I am a "baby" when it comes to JEEPS so I am sure the experts will help out.

    FYI $89.99 through genesee

    Good luck

Yep mine looks like the IAY. I guess I'll have to reorder. I don't think
Quadratec carries it. I'll try Genesse. Thanks Kevin!! This has been a real
    bite!!

YEP, #1548 is what I got. Just received it from the "The Man in Brown Clothes."

Seems pretty straight forward. I got the coil too. I figured I would swap it all out. I have been trying to get rid of this hesitation in the engine for awhile now. I guess I'll see if it works as well as everyone says it will.

I've been wanting to do this for about 6 months. Finally got around to
getting plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil. Even got points/condensor. Also
ordered the Pertronix Ignitor. First one was wrong. Sent it back.
Ordered the second one, it was wrong. I guess the third time is a charm.
But it's running so good now I was thinking of not putting it on. Finally
today got to it, and it's the wrong one. So I'll have to send it back and
order the #1548. Next week I guess.................
