Patching a Vinyl Top

    My son just bought a new "Bestop" vinyl replacement top for his CJ5 and it has a couple of small holes and one torn place in it. (the retailer wouldn't make good on it). He has decided to patch the holes and tear rather than argue with them and he needs to know what to use to do the patching with. Is there a product that can be purchased at the Automotive Stores that will do a decent job and is there any particular product that is considered the best?

    Any other do or don't comments will be greatly appreciated.

    I had to patch a hole in my original Whitco cj6 top..... tried several things that did not work long term (bicycle patch, shoogoo)..... finally had a friend sew a patch over the hole and no more problem
