It usually bolts to the tranny cover and has a rod that goes back to the shift arm on the OD. I use a rod, cut a slot and put a flat piece with hole in it to pin to the OD. Front end pins to the shift arm.

I've got several in the pile of shift levers in the shop. I'll see if I can take a pic tomorrow for you... I just got back in the house after welding and beating on the floors some more...

    I used 920003 : Saturn & Warn UNIVERSAL SHIFTER | Advance Adapters
and mounted it at the two bolts circled below where the adapter meets the xfer case. I Can get pictures of the finished product after body is installed if you’re interested. It doesn’t mount tight between the shifters like it would in a stock situation. 9650CAA5-394D-4B17-A750-A9E5A7A96EEE.jpeg

85 bucks for the whole kit seems reasonable. I was trying to figure out how to get the shifter forward of the D18 twin stick, but couldn't figure it out. Does that OD shifter get in the way?

I haven’t had any issues, my buddy who is 6’3” bumps his knee a bit riding passenger but not uncomfortable, he just forgets it’s there. Not sure if it will interfere with the gun rack that goes between the seats but I’ll find out soon!

I was going to buy the kit, but it needed to be modified anyway, as its a universal one. The mounting plate that bolts to the back of the sm420 is some sort of 3/16 commercial door mount with holes drilled and tapped that i bought multiple of to use for projects like this.

I shaped it to fit and Tig welded the upright to it. The shifter is made out of some 3/4 steel I had kicking around. The pins it articulates on are 5/16 socket head bolts. I made the adjuster nut out of some 1/4 cold roll Tig welded to a long nut. The nut was pretty wide so I cut down the flats on 2 sides to narrow the ID between sides that I also Tig welded together.

The shaft is a random piece of steel I had kicking around. I drilled it out and tapped it on my lathe then Tig welded a cut off bolt into it. The back has Tig welded a simple rectangular piece of steel with a hole drilled just like what came with the shifter from Herm I couldn't use.

It shifts smooth as silk. No idea how it works when its all running yet though. I will bend up a shifter when I get the tub back on.
