Getting ready to start restoration of the windshield. I want the windshield frame to have the same configuration as original in 1957. What belongs and what doesn't? I will not be putting a top on the jeep, therfore don't need any top brackets. Were any of the brackets pictured factory original or aftermarket?

All that hardware is accessory, except for the small half-round clips for the w/s wiper vacuum hose.

Save the hardware - someone else may be looking for those parts.

All that stuff comes with the soft top. You have the door opening bar brackets, the door hinge brackets, and the channel for the edge of the door. The little cable clamp is not part of the top, maybe original - don't know.

The cable clamp is for the vacuum line for the windshield wiper on the driver side as I recall.
When I'm done I have two tops that will be available with hardware. I may keep two top bows for a safari top.

Everything in you photos is identical to my '64 Tux, except the hose clamp adjacent to the mid-point of the glass (turned sideways) and my hinges and brackets don't have the oval welded "nuts". Mine use standard hex nuts with a lockwasher. Also, my door channels are extruded aluminum as opposed to your steel ones. Everything you have looks absolutely correct.

I have that exact hardware on a vented frame - including the oval welded nuts. I agree with the others that it would be accessory if you want to remove it. I do believe though that the windshields came with at least the two holes for the hinge and the two holes for the rod bracket - therefore I would not weld them shut but insert some bolts and screws to close them.

That's what I was thinking, just remove the parts and put screws nuts or bolts to close the holes. Might be best so I can put a top back on easily in the future .
