Original Style Canvas Storage/folding

    I have a 1960 cj5 with the original top bows and a Beachwood canvas full top. I am looking for information or better yet photos of how the roofs were stored on the jeep when taken off and folded. Also if anyone knows the different ways the top can be folded, doors and side curtains stored when taken off. Did searches. No luck. Thanks in advance.

    How long do you plan to store everything? Canvas will take a set if folded for too long.

    What I mean is a crease from being folded can be hard to get out sometimes. Also it has to be very dry or it can shrink if not installed because nothing is holding it stretched out.

    Just talking about when i fold it up and want to bring it wih me. Somewhere i saw a pocture of roof strapped to rear fender well. Can not find it again.

    There are other guys on with canvas tops so maybe they know which way is the best for removing or storing. To me the main thing would be protecting the plastic windows from scratching and breaking...soft towels on each side to protect them would be worth considering. Don't forget when it's cold the plastic windows can get brittle and will crack if you try to roll or unroll them.

    I fold mine up and put it under the passenger seat.

    I stash the bows on top of the tailgate, and the (canvas) top is draped so as to hang over/around the bows and down inside the tailgate. I fold it so as the rear window is protected inside the canvas and not bent or creased.
