Anyone here running the Offy 4bbl intake and an HEI distributor? Did it fit without modifying anything?

Lots of times the corner of the manifold must be ground and a button head bolt used to clear the distributor body. Similar to how the stock intake must be modified.

Best thing you can do to a 225 is electronic ignition and a real carb. They become a completely different animal.

What Nickmil said. Mine just needed a little touching with a flap disc.

It is literally taking off an 1/4" of material 1/2" wide where it hits the distributor and installing a button head bolt. Not really anything to see in a picture.

What are peoples opinions of using a Pertronix kit in the stock distributor?

I have done a lot of pertronix and they work great but haven't done one on a 225. I have always had plenty of HEI distributors laying around so it hasn't ever paid to do one on a v6.

I run pertronix on my v6 - really do like it. I cannot compare it in anyway to an HEI set-up, but its definitely nice little upgrade over standard points in terms of not having to adjust, clean or maintain them in anyway. Set it up and forget it. In my case, I also added the Pertronix brand higher output coil (flamethrower). I wouldn't say the driving performance is significantly improved over well adjusted points - although its certainly of equal quality if not better. I think I am also working a bit on finding the exact right plug gap and temp to run with the slightly hotter coil (or maybe just run the E3 plugs). If nothing else, not having to check dwell and adjust point gap every few thousand miles is a nice feature, as well as it seems some of the points condensers are of low quality and seem to have issue dying randomly. I also burned out my points a couple times leaving power on by accident when it would choke down off road and I would forget to turn-off the key - driver error of course. One thing I learned from my pertronix install was that just shimming the distributor gear and getting any excess play out of the distributor shaft was probably the biggest improvement in terms of getting consistently timed spark - and this helped even with just points.

The Pertronix works very good. Couple that with an MSD for oddfire and it's incredibly effective.
The HEI is also very effective if you add an adjustable vacuum advance. They work ok out of the box but being able to adjust the vacuum advance allows you to really dial things in. In some cases the mechanical advance springs need changed if the engine is not stock.
