Not Thoroughly Thought Out

    The previous owner wanted a receiver and spare tire carrier on my CJ5 so he made his own. I don't think it was thought out thoroughly though. I guess most of the rear mounted tire rack do similar damage. But the welding of the brackets to support the receiver just is not right.     Some how the picture makes makes everything look more rusty then then are. I don't mind cutting the bolts out, but if I have to drop the tank I will be an unhappy camper. You can see the two holes at the edge of the gas tank I had to drill in order to remove the tank once before. I know drilling a hole in the support is possible.
