Nissan diesel update.......

Well, I got the truck I bought to run. But the engine has a severely cracked block - unrepairable. So, I will be looking towards a gas motor swap unless I happen upon another diesel motor (a local scrap yard had one... for 800 dollars... and would not guarantee it to be serviceable)

I did pull the damaged engine and incidentals for 'possible future parts'. Stuff keeps following me home then never leaves... No wonder I can't get the door to the shed closed

darn man, I was looking forward to reading about the buildup. Guess now you should think about that turbo intercooler setup

 

Hey William which of those 4cyl motors were you looking at? Was it the SR20 or the SR22?

 

The diesel is a SD22, found in 81-83 Datsun trucks. There is a less common SD25 in a few 83-?88 Nissans. The gas motors are Z22 and Z24. Easily had around here (I already have 3 )
