Hi All - I was referred to this site by a guy on www.jeep-cj.com. He said you guys might be able to help me identify some soft tops (Bestop, Whitco and Kayline) that I recently uncovered in a warehouse where Pete Condos (the "Con" in Con-ferr) used to do R&D.

Here's a link to the thread I started on the other site: http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f7/newbie-help-soft-tops-doors-4938/

They seem to think the top I have pictured in the first post is for a CJ-6. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for whatever info you can give me.....

This looks like a CJ2a door:

the top you have pictured is a Kayline Luxair model; zippered side windows and rear window, with portal windows.
the unknown is whether it's a CJ3A top or CJ5 top
it is not a CJ6 top or a 2A top
the front and rear bows for this style of top bows are two piece design; if you still have them, it wouild be 4 half bows that slide together in the middle; they were usually starpped together by metal banding; then you would need all the skinny black support rods that go with it.
Most of the full length one piece bows I saw in the picks I'm assuming are Whitco.

could be, but we need to see the flap portion that is most likley folded over; the flap portion is what would slide into the rail on the windshield frame and act as the "hinge".

here's a pic of the Kayline F3A Luxair installed on my Jeep.
the Jeep is CJ2A with a CJ3A windshield frame; so the top that fits is for a CJ3A.
the MB and CJ2A tops attached differently for the square windshield frame they are equipped with.

here's a pic that show the bows and rod configurations; the bows are sleeved in the middle and appear as one piece in the pic. Half bows using sleeves allowed the bows to be broken down for shipping purposes and it all fit inside one box.

Thanks to everyone for the quick responses. I agree, the top that jpflat2a shows looks identical (except for color) to the one I have. I have several other Bestop and at least one Whitco that I'll post pics of.

I'll get a pic or 2 of the flaps on the soft doors as well.

As far as the bows, I'll start laying them out to put similar widths, etc, together. Many are wider than what I imagine would be correct for a Jeep....maybe a Blazer or Bronco or FJ40 Land Cruiser.

Price? I dunno, guys.....what are these things worth these days? I'm selling these for a friend and don't want to leave $$ on the table, but still want to be reasonable. Help!?

    shadow ? :?
    my top is currently off
we could make some measurements to confirm the door opening and overall length if need be; a CJ5 top would be longer and door openings are different as well.

If you look closely, you can see the skinny black rods still taped to the bows!

Yes, measurements from your top would be AWESOME! Thanks so much....

Make that a soft too if you have one available. Been looking for a long time for something original to the Jeep instead of the newer Bestop, Tigertop stuff.

Yes, guys, please keep it tech and PM me if you guys are interested in purchasing stuff. I had a thread in another forum get closed because too many people were asking about buying things.

I'm gonna post up pics of more tops, bows and doors to get some help ID'ing what exactly they are and what they go to and then I'll set up a separate thread in classifieds to sell everything. Whoever PM's first will be first in line (including ones already received).

    Thanks guys!

Okay, so I just spent 3 hot, sweaty, dirty hours digging through soft tops and doors this afternoon. And this is what I have to report:

    2 Kayline Luxair Tops
2 sets of Kayline Doors that, I think, go with these 2 tops
2 Kayline Tops, but not the Luxair Version. The rear door is the same, but there is one large window on the sides instead of the 2 on the Luxair versions.
    2 Whitco Tops
    1 set of Whitco Doors
    4 Bestops
    1 set of Bestop Doors
    Other assorted doors

    Oh, yeah.....and one CJ-8 1/2 Top (I'm pretty sure). :D

I also found a bunch of hardware that I'll need help ID-ing.
