Hello everyone, I have had my Jeep for almost a year and I finally got her running, not too well but running. It is a 68 and is in really decent shape. Plans are for the new axles sitting there that are wide tracks and will run 35's, 4.11 gears and lockers. Just picked up parts for a saginaw steering upgrade but keeping it manual for now I think. Hopefully over the winter I will get all this done, painted and ready for spring, so I will try to document the build and what I am doing. If there is anything you can recommend I would appreciate it. I have been lurking around here for a while gathering info and trying to fix things.'

    Just wanted to say Hi.

A Saginaw conversion would have been my first suggestion :). Are you doing a spring over lift or new lift springs? The narrow fronts are kind of a weak spot. Know a guy who's bent up a couple of Hell Creek springs. Looks to be a very solid Jeepster, always good not to have to do a lot of body work.

I am keeping it spring under but with a 3" lift. I figure that should keep it stable, plus I am doing the YJ springs up front so it will be beefier. I am trying to decide now if I should go power steering or not, since I am messing with it I doubt it would be much harder to go power. Not a lot of body work at all, just cleaned up and a paint job.

Yup. if you're going Saginaw might as well go all the way and do the power.

Oh come on now, power steering just takes all the fun out of cruising in a Commando. If I didn't wander and adjust as I traveled in Fussy, I would not be certain I was in my Commando at all!

Oh yeah - Welcome to the club Max.
