Biggest giveaway for a '41 model is the slat-bar grille. The '41s had a grill comprised of bent flat stock that was then either riveted or welded together (or both) while the later MBs had the cheaper-to-produce stamped sheetmetal grille like the CJs did.

you should not have any willys written on the hood. Only cj's had that.

X2. From the pics, the hood is early CJ. Grille was a production MB/GPW but it was hacked up for those later headlights. Tub was hacked for the passenger-side fuel tank. MB/GPW windshield frame is missing the most valuable parts, the inner frame and opening mechanism. Engine (at least the head) looks to be a later model than MB, casting numbers will tell the tale here. Trans shift tower looks too tall to be an MB's T-84, it look smore like a T-90 from a CJ, wagon or pickup. In the good news department, the rear axle is definitely MB/GPW, it is a Spicer 23-2 which should be a 4.88 ratio. Front axle likely is a Dana 25 with 4.88s, but no bets.

Did you get a title? Does your state require one?

All indications here are that you have the basis for a good solid trail jeep/project but not a candidate for a full-on resto. I'd research the title, get it in your name and then go from there. YMMV.

You may just want to find another one and use that one for parts. I hate to say that but it would be very costly to restore that one. Or you can get the complete kit that is available that include new body, frame and all bolt ons. Just needs the running gear out of a donor jeep, then you go to your state to get an assigned vin. the complete kit sells for $7000, that would be cheaper in the long run.

or you could always just build it and wheel it. Still a great looking jeep!

The Motor is a "Supersonic" 1951-53, It has a Willys head. The rear axle is correct, as is the tub. This is a MB/GPW but over the years has been Frankinized. Chin up though, It is still a Jeep! It's tough to look at something like this and make a monatary value. There are alot of things that you would need to do to make it what it once was. I agree with the G503 thread. Those guys know there stuff.
