BFG M/T are very popular if you need a radial, if not go super swamper. They offer them in about every size you can think of. Also a frnt or rear locker will help a TON offroad. I would say do these first and then if you need more power then think about doing the engine swap.

    33.x9.50 BFG AT?

You didn't mention what type of wheeling you do.

For what I've been doing recently my BFG AT's have been more than enough for what I want to do.

34x9.50 Super Swampers are also a good tire w/ a 2" lift and an F-head from what I've driven at Tellico.

I'm guessing they'd fit a 3B with a 2" lift and a body lift. As I said above, I drove one with a 2" lift and 34x9.50s at Tellico. It was a 5 not a 3B. Not fast on the road but did allright. Very nice off-road.

    F-head will surprise ya.

Sure either one of those would work as well with some more power to spare.

Stay to the narrow side of things though with the F-head IMO.

    Flattie with 33x10.50 BFG MTs

This is with no body lift and 3" lift springs.

No rubbing - yet. I'd be worried about 34's hitting the wheel opening in the rear.

If you are still planning on running on the road, I would recommend the 33s. TSLs are heavy but they work great in all conditions offroad. If you are really planning to wheel it, the TSL LTBs in 34x10.5 are great for a little extra ground clearance. A lockright in the rear, and a manual or power saginaw work really well. Another easy, and VERY beneficial upgrade would be to your front brakes. The 11 inch drums are easy, but still have the flaws of the 9" drums. Discs from a dana 30 are a much better option, that you will not regret. Cheap, easy fit, and worth every minute of time it takes to install, on and offroad. An absolute must if you are really going to wheel it, tellico especially, would be a roll cage that is tied to the frame. Kentrol will send you a great weld in kit to tie your factory bar into the frame for a real sturdy, safe cage. This setup will get you about anywhere that any other jeep with similar sized tires will go. I have built a 2A, 3B, and early 5 for moderate to advanced East coast trail riding, so if you want to PM or email me with any questions feel free. Tires, locker and rollcage, and you will be hooked. That little Flattie will turn heads on any trail run around.

I replied to your PM, but the website is www.kentrolinc.com and you will have to scroll to the Custom Tubular section in the search menu. Good guys, with quality stuff. WIll take a little cutting, and welding, but is heavy wall stuff, and solid designs.

The first pic is of the jeep soon after restoration/buildup.
The second two are after the buildup to where it is today.
