I've gotten most of the wiring into this CJ7, but all the emissions stuff is missing and it had been chopped on some so if anyone has a nice original or correct restored 304-powered '7 that will be the same as a '79 I'd appreciate some help (probably pics and PM's) with it. The Chilton's wiring diagram has proven just a good suggestion so far... "voltmeter: black and yellow. Okay, black, check, yellow, check. Turn key, *sparks fly* - nope!"

Turned out to be red+black, and don't ask me how the gauge still worked.

IIRC the complete '79 TSM is on the Tom Collins site. Likely also has the factory wiring diagram under the category "electrical."

    Cool. Thanks!

Also, the Chilton's manual shows an electrical oil pressure gauge and the Jeep has an electric sender and harness down at the filter adapter on the engine, but it has a mechanical gauge and plumbing. Is this factory inconsistency and a low-oil warning circuit or PO meddling?

If it has a mechanical gauge and plumbing, it is PO.
