real easy to check for 180' out, pull #1 spark plug, and put your finger over the hole, turn the engine over EASY and when it blows air and you cant hold it, that means its on the compression stroke, at that point, disconnect the battery if you are afraid something might turn it over, but take a hanger wire and check where the piston is by poking it into the hole, if your timing marks are right, you should be able to simply line up ther TDC mark and check if the rotor button is pointing to #1 on the cap or not, if your marks are off, slowly by hand turn the crank till the wire you have wont go down far at all, you shoud be able to rock the crank back and forth to make sure where top center is, than do the same with the rotor button. I would say mb8265753
is right, 180 out is very easy to do.
