It is titled as a 59. And Hellion, you have sharp eyeballs. The windshield is indeed fixed in place. He ran some major support bars along the sides and down the doors, I'm not sure the reason. He also
built an entirely new dashboard. There are some different door hinges on there too, but I don't have the doors anyway. He is giving us the back seat and 2 gas cans when I get back up there.
It has the individual wipers with their own motors on the top of the windshield too. It has a rear tank, with filler on the rear passenger side. Not sure if that's stock. I do know it has a small leak.
One of the things I'm going to be looking at.

I think you might be able to find the snorkel hole plug for the hood or you could run a snorkel to fill the opening.
The latter would look cool. [IMG]

Welcome from Michigan, I love California bodies, your Jeep looks great, you will have fun playing with it. I too am a past Motorcyclist, I done bikes from 1960 until around 2005, or so. A Jeep is just a Four Wheel Motorcycle, I drive mine with the windshield tied down, on the road it's a Street Bike, on the Trails it's a Dirt Bike, enjoy your new Toy. Rick

Thanks for the compliments. My wife really wants a functioning snorkel. I think she plans on driving across our local lake....

Hey there, have another question for you all. Hellion noticed that the windshield was braced and not foldable. I took a look at the metal bracing and it looks like something an aftermarket company made rather
than a homebuilt. The braces are bolted to the body, and it appears if I removed them the windshield would fold down. I don't know if there is a hell of a lot of rust under there. I will try to talk to the PO and ask
him what he knows about it this weekend. I need to pick up the Jerry cans and rear seat anyway. Does anybody know what these things could be or maybe who made them?

Did it come with a top? It looks like the mount/hinge for a hard top door.

No top that I know of. We do have a bikini top that slides in the rail above the windshield and goes over the roll bar.
But that would make sense, the door hinges are obviously very different than the stock ones. Anyone else?

Hey, welcome to the jeep club! Sounds like you have a cool little toy there, and wife approval is HUUUGE.

I'm surprised nobody has addressed your knees hitting your chest problem yet, but google "wheel well notch" and get your neighbor to help you move that seat further back. You'll love the jeep even more.

Yeah, Norcal69 has been nice enough to offer to come up and give me some advice. I can drive it I just wouldn't want to take it any distance yet. My wife thinks I'm just being a whiny baby.
She's 5'2" and it fits her perfect, doesn't see any problem at all....
