Just became a member of this site and have loved reading about this build. You are doing an incredible job. Wish our 68' looked half that good. One question, where did you get the radiator re-built and how bad was the price? Ours has a small leak and wondering if we re-build or replace. Thanks

Tough to find good radiator shops anymore, had to get mine rebuilt in Houston while visiting family. He removed the tanks, cleaned it all (several tubes were blocked) and reinstalled the tanks for right around $100. He said the original brass/copper radiators are better than the aluminum ones as the aluminum ones really can't be cleaned or repaired.

These look to be a nice brass/copper replacement, but not cheap...

It’s an immaculate build (as far as I’m concerned) so far and while a new tub and sheet metal would’ve been nice, it wouldn’t have been “real”..plus it goes to show what someone can accomplish with kinda like nothing, or just with what you have on hand, plus a piece from here and a piece from there.

At least now I know what my beater was originally painted. Empire Blue...and all this time I thought it was a green of sorts.

Are you going to get one of those faux retro battery covers to make your battery look 1960’s?

I got a nice windshield frame from someone here, still going to fix mine but I'm running out of nice days to drive this thing so I couldn't pass a good frame up.

Any hole that was on this frame but not on the original I welded closed, I find it easy to stick a bolt in, weld it and cut it off

I did my windshield glass. The glass is pretty stout, breaking or cracking will occur when it is twisted. I put the seal on the frame, use some glass cleaner for lubricant. Will need to buy a tool to put the locking strip in. I got my gasket from Walck's, I thought it was short but it was the right length. The locking strip needs to be cut.

The locking strips goes on the exterior of the frame

Whoever said putting in this glass was "easy peasy " was a abusing their cannabis :) first I made a template insuring I wouldnt break the glass

The seal was so loose it wouldn't stay on the frame

After an hr of cursing a salesman showed up at the shop so I put him to work and got it done

Now I'm one for buying the right tool but waiting a week for it to come wasn't happening so I made a bead lock tool out of a wire hanger and it worked excellent. Took me about 4 minutes to get the bead in

Got the bottom seal on too using stainless screws
