Any ideas what would cause a metallic grinding noise that seems to be coming from the bellhousing. (258 engine T14a tranny) I first noticed it when I drove down a steep bank. I don't think it is the throw out bearing because the noise is there when the clutch is engaged or released.

Thanks guys. I don't think it is a warn clutch because the noise is there at all times. I'm leaning towards the starter or clutch cover plate. I guess if it's not the starter i will have to drop the transmisssion as I can't see any thing from the outside.
