    Hi,

Last year I installed an brand new Omix -Ada mechanical fuel pump (with the wiper vacuum booster). I drove the jeep no more than 1,000 miles since then... and its on the fritz.

I now giving up on Omix-Ada (Electronic ignition + fuel pump failures) and I am now looking for a source of USA made fuel pump that can take our gas with the Ethanol.

    Thanks for your help.

If there is more than one manufacture of that pump it would surprise me..

Airtex makes one, but I believe it’s the same source as Omix.

Thanks for the quick reply... may be a USA made rebuild kit would do as I have the original pump (made in the USA). I would not try Airtech unless I'm sure.

I had time to check the problem and it seems that the culprit was the fuel pressure regulator that was causing the issue and not the pump - I have a lot of fuel skirting out of the outlet when cranking and very poor fuel delivery after the regulator.

For other people that may come across this thread
    I manage to find:
Specta Premium SP1279MP says it was "Engineered and developed in Canada" but did not state the manufacturing country.
Airtex 4032 - This was my old pump. Compare to the new ones listed on a few website, it had screws for the top and bottom while the new pumps shows bolts.

I have to agree they all look identical to the OMIX-Ada.

FWIW, Spectra premium I believe in a Taiwan facility...
Not that I would value that any better than their competition.

If you really want the ultimate, you could maybe go with the M38A1 military pump.
