So I am bolting up my newly painted everything steering and I need to know what the proper Torque for the Sector shaft to Pitman Arm nut is. Luckily I have a 1 5/16" 3/4 drive socket all ready so I just need to know the Torque looking on line I see everything from 120 ftlbs to 250 ftlbs. The Original Chevy application for this box is a late 60's Camaro Nova Chevelle and that range is 120-160 ftlbs) (the 250 ftlbs is a 525 box on a ford pickup) My best torque wrench only goes to 150 ftlbs so before I go rent one I would like to know I am in the right ball park.

Build is a 56 Frame mount is a 1/2" plate welded to a 1/4" boxing plate and it has internal and external bracing. Including a Clamp and tie rod to the Right side rail.

Intermediate CJ5's with manual boxes are spec'd at 185 ftlb.

I know it has to do with diameter and other things but it cracks me up that on one end of the Pitman arm is a HUGE 1 5/16" nut and Lock washer that has to be torqued above 150 ft lbs. while on the other end is a little 1/2" tapered stud with a Castle nut with barely 1/4" of threads tightened to 60 ft lbs. Yet the force acting on both ends while steering or reacting to input from the wheels is the same.
