    Hi guys,
I'd like to put my skyjacker 2" springs on my 1956 M38A1.
I'm wondering if I can change this old shackle style to more actual style like CJ7 / YJ style and put some boomerangs ?

On my A1 i used the poly bushings and standard shackles of the newer jeeps. Just put the bushings in the original mounts. Has worked fine, but I don't use it on the road. Road use may or may not chew the bushings up in the threads of the bracket.

Does the groove in this spring indicate age? At what year did they originate or when did they end? Only military or used on both MD and CJ variants? Thanks

Groove was early original style on CJ5 and M38A1, not sure of exact years.
