Just curious what the wrangler 2dr unlimiteds are going for in your neck of the woods. Just put 10 hours of work into an 04 with 138k on the od. we took it in on trade for just over $8k. Needed alot of tlc and some body work. I've seen a couple for $10k range but they need work. Usual is $15-$20k for low millage, good shape, no rust.

    About the same everywhere else?
I'd like one, just not for that much.

I have an 06 non-rubicon with 78K miles in good shape. I ran it through KBB and it came back at $16K for a private seller. I could probably get $13K if I tried down here.

    2004 LJ 84k miles and automatic, 11.5k.

That's stock. Built with 3-4 inch lifts are as high as 18k.

For a 100K mile rig, around 16 here, more for Rubis.
Local Chevy dealer has an 06 auto non-rubi in khaki, on 35s, for $19.5. Looks great, pocket flares painted to match.
A buddy drove it... was regeared, but can't keep it between the lines over 45 mph, serious driveline clunks, a number of other issues.
Dealer said they can't come down much because "they already have too much invested in service".

If they have so much in service and the rig still has these issues, they clearly don't know what they're doing.

Shouldn't take much to get it fixed. If that was us they'd put another 100 into it and mark it up another 100:rofl:

sounds like prices are about the same. If we get one in on trade next year I might have to pull the trigger on it.

    4 miles to work... :)
The Volvo is the highway cruiser; it get twice the gas mileage of the LJ... so the LJ doesn't make many trips unless I need to haul something or pull the trailer.

A buddy of mine is trying to sell his '79 CJ so he can get an LJ. He's finding many LJs within 100 miles of here, but he can't get anyone to give him his price for the CJ ($5K)
His CJ is well worth $5K, it's the appearance that's hurting him (yellow YJ tub, brown CJ front clip, black doors...). I told him to spend a couple bucks on a driveway paint job.. ;)

yea, a little paint goes a long way.

I hate to get my 69 on the road finally just to sell it, but its been really tempting the last couple months.

My buddy sold his CJ. He finally took 4400 for it.

He's looking at a couple 05 LJ Rubicons.

14800, for an 05 LJ Rubi, stock/auto, 92K miles, dented front fender/missing one fog light/bad rear soft window. Good tires. 5 hours away.

15800 for an 05 LJ Rubi, stock/auto, 82K miles, no cosmetic issues, good tires, 2 hours away.

16900 for an 05 LJ Rubi, stock/auto, 67K miles, no cosmetic issues, good tires, 3.5 hours away.

These are the bargain units... there are many priced considerably higher.

LJ's are running anywhere from $12-$14 for a decent one with decent miles. Rubicon LJ's are still hovering around $16-$18 with decent to low miles. Same prices they were four years ago. Its amazing how depreciation has not had any impact to the used car market.

I've been juggling the idea of getting rid of my Commander and getting and LJ.

What's the expected longevity out of the 4.0 L? There's a stock 05 LJ Rubicon in my area with 92k in the same cost range as those in this thread. I can't help but peep at the jeep.

I've personally seen 4.0s with 190k still running like a top.
I've "heard" of 4.0s going up to 300k (A he said, she said deal).

I know of many that are over 200K and running strong. The only thing about the 05 and 06 is the Oil Pickup Drive Assembly (OPDA). The bearings in it are a bad design and could cause issues. If it makes a chirping noise it needs to be replaced. It is no big deal to swap them out.

A lady friend of mine out in Ohio is at 302K right now. Her mechanic told her he has seen a 4.0 go over 500k.
    Hers is a 96 IIRC.
It's a DD, not an off road Jeep.

No reason to hold back based on 92K miles. :)
My buddy is very pleased with the 05 Rubi LJ he bought this summer with 92K.

Good info. Thanks. Mine would be more of a daily driver. We will see how fixing my truck to sell or trade goes.
