OK, time to throw my trailer into the fray. Color even matches my Jeep.
The thing that doesn't make sense to me with the teardrop design is the wasted space particularly in the back. I know it makes for better aerodynamics but is it really worth the gas saved?
You need to take some Photochop lessons from Billy,Dan or Brad
Couldn't even stay in the lines, grab your crayolas and go sit in the corner till you can do better!
I have the originals from the 1947 popular mechanics and a set of modern CAD drawings if someones interested.
I started out with the trailer and worked up to the Jeep. Ain't it getting better?
Mine are from the 50's or 60's from one of those types of magazines.
My pop used to order all types of prints of sail boats, lawn furniture
and all types of misc. stuff. And never built any of it.
I know we discussed this not too long ago. As a matter of fact, there was a website that showed you how to build it with step by step photos. I'll look for it...
had the website till my harddrive decided that it hates me I still would like one but I decided that this is not the time in my life to build one.
Had no idea there were that many different teardrop designs. I suspect Boyink might especially like The 2 + 2 for the extra kids space. http://www.westhoffdesign.com/michael/teardrop.htm has a nice slideshow of a teardrop being constructed. Has anyone seen an off-road variant?
Is this it?
There are more than 25-30 websites that show the full construction, I have saved a few in my links page for later construction if anybody wants the link, just yell!!
2+2 is still too close for comfort IMHO. I'd be happy with tossing the kids a tent...
I like teardrops...but realistically it's too big a project to take on right now, and I'm not going to spend the $ to buy one.
I am kicking around looking for a sheep M416 to purpose-build for camping tho...
Mcruff, I'm yelling
can you post/share what you have
Got to leave for a few errands, will post them in about 3 hours Jim.
I'll 2nd the yell. Deb thinks they're cool as well. Half of the battle has been won
still yelling MIKE !!!
Yell no more, I finally got my wife and kids off the computer again.
Here are a few links:
Look around real good on this one as there are alot of posted photos that will take you too the owners build page.
This should keep you busy for about a week.
Thanks Mike :JEEP:
