    My 62 has 12 leafs in the rear and 9 in the front,when i put the tub on her i said to my self ,self how the heck am i gonna get in this thing.I know for a fact that this jeep has never bin touched im the 2nd owner and po never did any thing to it. I read some where that 12 leafs was an option you could order from the factory??? Maybe thats why it had side steps to get in it.If you look at my other post (BLING)you can see them.

    IMO the factory leafs really didn't add a lot to Jeep heigth, just stiffened the ride;
    it may be high now with little weight, but once assembled and driven, it will settle a lot
    I think the most leaves ever offered from the factory were 10 front and 13 rear.
    holy kidneys !!

    I had the stock springs in for a while and the ride was, let's say buckboard comes to mind. My wife called my Jeep a bucking bronco or whiplash. I swapped them out for a set of Holbrook springs. www.holbrookspecialties.com It will be a lot softer ride with articulation. When I talked to them the reason they came up with the springs (ok, maybe one of the reasons) their wife's complained that their boobs hurt after a day of four wheeling:twisted:. So to keep the family together for fun on the trails they came up with a asymmetrical spring with flex for their Jeeps. And you get a 2 1/2 inch lift too! I will give a full review when I get on the trails.

    I wholly recommend the Holbrook springs. I was lucky enough to be able to test one of the prototype sets in Moab, Utah. It was amazing the difference they made! One thing you will find is there will be more body sway in sharp corners, but a Jeep isn't a road racer, right? The better quality ride and the articulation is well worth it. I have them on the race Jeep right now and they will be going on the CJ-5 when it gets rebuilt. They just plain work. You will find that the shock length and brake hoses become the limiting factor with these springs. Nickmil.

    Nick - I have mine on my 51 and am trying to figure out the shock length I will need. My shock mounts are at 18" just sitting on the shop floor and is only going to 21" with the rear jacked all the way so both tires float. It also moved my axles inboard 2" so I have to shorten the Drive Shafts slightly.

    What kinda travel should I shoot for in shocks for these babies?

    Uhh....I'm no suspension expert, but isn't it a bad thing to have suspension travel be limited by shocks and brake hoses? Seems like I've seen rigs with limiting straps instead.

    Budget is going to be the limiting factor for me. I read the Holbrook install instructions and it seems like the Jeep has to be pretty well setup the way you want to run it before installing the Holbrooks. I'll have to see if there's any $$ left after getting everything else pretty well set.

    I'm anxious to see what a cushy ride I'll have with the 6's wheelbase and the Holbrooks...
