I've got regulators on both of my Solex carbs, based on being told they need them. Haven't tried them without regulators.

ok, thanks. i was looking around for one, and to get one which has an adjustment range of 1-4 PSI, it would cost $20, and about 16 weeks to get it. I don't want to wait that long.

They have them at every autozone. I just had this argument myself. It wont hurt to put in line. You can always turn the knob to 5 if needed.

The fuel pump reg is optional for sure. Crank it up and give us a report. I just ordered the electronic dist., and solex from John myself. I can't wait for mine to be reliable again.

Yeah, I emailed Solex Company, and asked them. They said that the regulator is not required, but it will increase the performance of the carburetor. I found one and got it on order. Someone finally has one in stock!

I fired it up, and man what a difference, warmed up quick, idled great right out of the box. I still need to fine tune the A/F mixture a bit, but other than that I am happy.
