Just in case you were ever wondering.
28 HP and 60 Ft Lbs at the rear wheels.R)
No she's not tuned perfect. Fuel is 2 years old and had a massive dose of stabil in it.
The jeep pulled 55mph on the innerstate 45 minutes there and 40 minutes home till she started bucking and poping like we are only fireing on 2.
Gonna look at the carb and timing in the next day or so.
Felt good to have her back out of the garage.

wow, I'm surprised by this. I thought there would be a little more hp at the wheels (maybe 35). Wonder how an OD would change this? Is your engine rebuilt?

Rebuilt in '08 IIRC. Bored .30 over.
Going to try to get some more dyno time when there isn't such a croud (Dyno Day)
She did draw a croud in between the 700+ hp drag cars.

Overdrive won't affect the amount of HP at all.

If you can get 120 out of an f head, better get it on video cause it wont make that for long before she blows.

That's true in an ideal world but in actuality you'd lose some HP due to friction in the od.

To answer the original question, in theory, an od would lower the output torgue but increase the shaft speed. The net effect would be no change in HP since the two would balance each other out. But in the real world, you have to consider the loses due to friction, the added vehicle weight and the fact that the engine may no longer be producing it's peak HP since it's now operating on a different part of it's torque/HP curve so adding an od may not actually be beneficial.

found this on jeepforum.....he posted this there..

Engine is done, off the engine stand, and got another on the engine stand again. The Typhoon I am calling it made 96.2 HP on the dyno at 3,780 RPM and 149 ft-lbs at 1,900 RPM roughly. Note that is with a MSD, electronic ignition, 93 octane, and a Solex carb, with electric fuel pump, stock exhaust manifold.

    CR is 7.9:1
    Bore is .060
    Stroke +.040 over stock
    Decked head .060

Ported intake and exhaust, polished combustion chamber and exhaust side.

Full copper head gasket, custom made.

Lightened and balanced with in 1 gram the crank.

    Lightened flywheel 5 lbs.

    8MM spark plug wires.

    and some other stuff.

    Spent $700 total.

Just going to say this. Bet he makes more HP with lower octane fuel. 7.9 to 1 compression is nothing.
