Hopefully Nickmil will reply. If not, may want to start a conservation with him.

I've only had one of these apart but, as I recall, the two halves should separate with both sprockets and chain staying in the one half. There are no retainers or set screws that I recall. The sprockets and their shafts ride in bearings that are pressed (light press fit, I believe) into the case halves. Sounds to me like the one sprocket is simply stuck in it's bearing.

Pretty sure I had mine laying face down (front of box facing down) when I took it apart. Not sure if that matters or not. it's been a little while.

Thanks,I found the master link (whew) and reached in and got the chain apart, then the halfs came apart, the out put shaft is stuck in the back half, now I'm in a tis trying to pull that out with out making a pile of scrap aluminum,it also looks like the back of the case had a cover cast over the end of the shaft that is gone, has any body had success machining a cap for that from aluminum?
