Anyone have a specific product to keep the heat from the floorboard down? Going to spray some raptor liner down, but I don't think that will help with the heat. I saw Kasier Willy sold a rubber floor mat, but not much else.

    Thanks!

Hot rod suppliers and antique car catalogs have a bunch of products that are adhesive and reduce heat/sound transmission.

I’m looking for some ideas as well. I’ve seen some thick rubber mats at Tractor Supply. Pretty cheap. I may do that.

Does that adhesive stuff stay wet? Dry out fast? My Jeep will/does get wet.

    HEAT PROTECTION

It's a bed liner type product with ceramic spheres instead of rubber mixed in to act as a thermal barrier.

Put a shield made of steel between the exhaust and the underside of the floor. Basically a heat shield with an air gap of about 1/2" or more between the floor and the shield. Make it of steel like body steel, say 20 or 22 ga. This will be much more effective than any spray-on coating, I predict.

In my first CJ-5, I used the indoor-outdoor carpet kit with as much jute carpet padding between the carpet and the floor as I could fit in. Very nice even in bare feet. Get those rubber mats, and put layers of aluminized bubble wrap in there, if you don't want carpet and padding. Pull the mats and padding out to dry if the floors get wet.

This is similar to what I did on my 3B but I used aluminum. It works well.

i use horse mats cut to fit the floor in my 74 with a glass tub and the wifes 76 in glass too they help with some heat in summer and really help in the winter. we use them at work as curtains on the crusher and always have some pieces hanging around so mine are free as a bonus.
