I had one of the plastic "tits" break that holds the "eye" of the cable on the vent controls in the YJ. They are supposidly not available anymore and i actually had an extra control with good "tits" but i would bust them trying to remove them. The problem i had was the "eye" of the cable was coming up and off the broken plastic part. With it being very tight quarters on the mechanism i ended up cutting and drilling a piece of 1/8 flat steel and zip tiing it to the spring. You can get a screw driver to pry up a little and slip a zip tie through. I did add a second on to the left side end cause the one tie did not work as well. Now the plate holds the cables down and the mechanism works the cables just fine without them popping off. I thought i would share because they will brake when you replace the cables.
