similar setup to a pick-up, shackle is flipped up.
    reason:
    keep a SOA slow
help drive the spring down into the ground on acceleration instead trying to push it under the Jeep.

    Thoughts or ideas?
still don't like the shackle but it gets the idea across.

from what I understand for setting up spring over suspensions with various different spring options and/or new fabbed frames, the eyes of the spring are supposed to be as level as possible from front to rear. Thus, for your drawing, you would need to to raise your front spring eye up quite bit. However, most of this info I'm basing this on is for front axles and for shackles above the spring, not below the spring like your drawing, but same rules apply to the front whether shackle is on front or rear of the spring....So, I'd look into getting the spring eyes as close to level with each other as possible if going this route. Good luck.

your drawing looks like the set up they use on older postal jeeps. this frame is shot but gives you the idea about keeping your spring eyes as close to level with each other[IMG]

I think I understand your logic, but pick-up trucks still seem to have a lot of axle wrap problems even with their stiff springs. If you do try it, I would be interested in your results.

Unless your body is modified that shackle will interfere if its built into the bumper
