With the 4wheel disc brakes the chevette master cylinder wouldnt push the jeep calipers, so I bought a 76-88 non power master cylinder for a cj5 to install.. Turned out to be a fairly simple install actualy. There is a sacer between the firewall and the chevette master cylinder, and whole wasnt quite big enough in the spaver to slip over the back of the jeep cylinder so I reemed it a little with a die grinder, and it fit great. Using the spacer as a template I marked the holes and drilled them in the master cylinder and bolted in on. The pushrod is EXACTLY the same length as a chevette one and hooked right onto the brake pedel with no mods needed, and the brakes have the same size fititngs as well, so nothing was there... took me about 20 minutes and I ahd four great working disc brakes.

So - you didn't make *any* modifications to the stock CJ master cylinder, and it operates the 4-wheel discs just fine?

All I did was redrill the mounting holes to match the chevette bolts.... nothing else was changed.... Im running stock jeep calipers up front, and monte carlo calipers in the rear.... the chevette cylinder pushed the monte calipers no problem and so does the jeep master cylinder...

I have the rear esivoir hooked to the front, becuase it takes more fluid to push the front, and the rear is hooked to the frotn resivor.

Yep, you hooked it up right. I don't think that there is a little valve in there on the rear line. It was (is?) in there if there were drum brakes on the rear. With disk you don't need it (or want it). These little rubber flapper thingies hold a few psi of pressure so that the drums can activate rapidly. Since disk never moves that far back this isn't a problem.

Interesting creation you are working on.
