I can't tell you that. What if I wanted to sell it to you, then what ??........................................................OK, $2250 Bought it right in your back yard....well to the west a bit. That's some pretty country out there, but the truck didn't like all the damn hills and why don't you guys spend more money making the back roads a little wider? Don't you all know how wide a U Haul trailer is and slow the freak down when you come around skinny road corners................

yup...just like mine...has the rear quarter panel parking lights as well. Actually, now that I see the build date, Jan 1970, that is the same as mine! If serial numbers are actually in order, that one is about 91 before mine (363740)....there are a couple pieces I could use for when you start parting that out...:D

That original color is 385 Empire Blue. It was offered through at least '70, which is what I'm guessing. The tailgate without the big "Jeep" embossed is why I say '70. Nice find! It looks pretty much like a time capsule. The only thing I see missing it the paper type air cleaner.

Donny, I have one in the barn, complete with spacer. Just woke from a little nap. Now to put it away and get the trailer back before they charge me another day. James, do you know the SSN for this one. Could not find what number they started with in 1970. I was tired. Within 91, they could be kissing cousins.

Hey, wait a minute. Part it out? Come on man, let me pour endless cash into it first, then I'll part it out.

Yea, that's a nice one. All there too for the most part. Congrats. And for a fair price or better. Good job.

4.88s is nice. Maybe a Powr-Lok hiding inside the front and a Trac-Loc in the back? Looks like Lock-O-Matic hubs too.

nice find! I saw that one the other day on craigslist, but of course I'm not in the market. I think you did really well. Are you going to start a build thread? what are your plans for it?

Yes, I know. They have tried intervention, but I just tell them to get out and then eliminate them from my life completely. :twist:

Well, I'm at a cross roads right now with it. There is a lot of good there and a lot of original stuff. If I kept it that way, I probably will get sick of the tranny after a while. Engine I'm good with, although I'm a nut when I get the chance to think about things. IE; fuel injecting the Dauntless will be on my mind constantly and will loose sleep about that. Rear end I'm good with, front axle, I have a Dana 30 kicking around, and 2.5 inch softrides. You see how I am torn right now. :banghead:

Anyways, I'm just going to replace the distributor for now and the poly fuel tank. I have a steel one here somewhere and they have the fuel pick up and return lines going into the top of the fuel tank. Not sure if the poly did not have a bottom feed. ? But try to start an engine that has been sitting for a long time with no fuel in the lines with a top feed hose. So back to bottom feeding tank. Other than that, just going to work out any bugs I find for now. But I do want to do a full restoration maybe mod to it soon. Its kind of nice to sit there as it is. If I did do any mods to it, I will keep the dash and other parts exactly stock. I need to find someone to re-do the seats over to original for me.

    So whatcha thinking ??

Oh and I have a really nice set of 32X10;50-15 mud terrains in the barn that I was thinking of putting on it. I think that's a good size with 488's. But maybe a set of 33X10;50-15 mud terrains at some point, like whn I hit the lottery or stop buying other Jeeps. There's that problem again.

This started off as my build thread, but got moved by an admin person of unknown identity, to the off topic location presently. I guess my heading was misleading in the beginning. ;) Yes, once I get into serious stuff, other than replacing the distributor or tank, I will start a build thread. I should have done one for the new 3b also, but got so involved with that one to get her running, I did not have to much time to type or take pictures. I'm really liking this 70, its a step above, real step above, where I normally start. Most of the time anything around here is a total rust bucket. Both my sons think I'm nuts for traveling so far the buy old Jeeps. But then again, you never see them over here in the dead of winter, cutting and welding sheet metal. Come to think of it, the only time you see them here doing anything Jeep related , is when they come to borrow a Jeep. :susp:
