I may pick up a rear PTO unit from a CJ-3 Ag Jeep. I know the single-stick spicer units (engage/disengage?) are more readily available, but how rare and WIW for the complete rear PTO?

    Thanks,

Depending on the condition the rear gear boxes go for $3-$4 hundred bucks on Ebay. If you get the right angle drive adapter w/ drum pulley they go for about the same as the gearbox. As you noted the PTOs themselves are fairly common & will bring $50 if you're lucky. You can't *give* the drive shafts away:rofl:

    Thanks Howard.

The piece is pretty nice - shaft turns smootly & no endplay. I need to clean it up, but I'm very pleased with it. On the hunt for the spicer piece now.
