Ok, I'll take a picture of them all later, but I have I think 4 different sets(types) of hubs.

I've got a set of warn hubs on the 62 in good working shape,
I've got a set of Dualmatic locking hubs,
1 set of an unknown variety, works kinda like a warn hub, but its shaped like a can, --not tapered like the warns. they only turn about 90* also to lock them in.
Then I have the 1 single warn hub like the set on my 62.

The dualmatics I've read are strong, but like to leak water into the bearings due to the poor sealing of the locking mechinisms. I believe they are in good shape though.

the no names, I was cleaning up and got the first one cleaned and working again. Took the second one apart, and pieces of the hub fell out. So one hub is busted.

My question is, other than appearance, is there any reason I couldn't use the one warn hub on one side, and the other no name hub on the other?

OR, just take the warn hubs off the 62, put the spindle?? plates back on and use the warn's on the 68.

I don't have hubs on the 68 right now. Just the early stock plates that were used before hubs.(came off the 62) Really would like to be able to disengage the front axle when I'm rolling along at highway speeds.

You can use any combination of hubs you like, as long as they work. btw, I managed to break a set of dualmatics on a Nissan Patrol I owned a few years back. Blew the cam out the side of one of 'em. Never been much impressed with them since.

you can mix and match, the function is the same
or you can just put the factory drive flanges back on, if you're not doing much highway driving
    trash the no-names
keep the warns, dualmatics, and the drive flanges
I carry the drive flanges for backup (I also carry too much)

My opinion: Warn hubs by far the best!! Just for the eaze of turning them in and out!! Do what you want with the rest.....door stop, ash tray...etc. R) R) Glenn

Jim, you never carry too much! :D

I've got your hub all packaged up and ready to go back in your parts box!

Since wimpy isn't going anywhere anytime soon. and when he will be it'll be on my property only, I think i'll just swap the flanges back onto wimpy, and put the warn hubs onto the 68 after I clean them up some.

    Next can o' worms ;)

grease the hubs up, or leave them nice and clean on the inside? seems I've heard someone say they should be clean...

Light grease. White Lithium is probably best.
